PORTALES, NM — After picking up its first Lone Star Conference win of the season, the Eastern New Mexico University women’s soccer team (2-4-2) will hit the road for the next two games.

On Friday evening at 6 p.m. MT, the Greyhounds will be hosted by UT-Permian Basin. On Sunday, ENMU will visit Angelo State.

Just eight games into the season, the Greyhounds are seven goals shy of last year’s total. Eastern’s shutout of Texas Woman’s on Sunday came one day shy of being a full year since the Greyhounds last shutout, which came at TWU.

Ariel Lopez has scored a team-high three of ENMU’s 12 goals and has dished out a pair of assists. Jaci Sievers and Kaitlyn Caro each have a pair of goals for Eastern. Alejandra Camarillo has played every minute of the season in net for ENMU. She currently has a 1.84 goals against average.

Spence is in his first season with Eastern.

The Tigers bring a record of 1-5-1 into Friday’s match-up, which includes a 3-1 win over Wayland Baptist. The Falcons also earned a tie against Adams State. Deonna Green paces UTPB with three goals. Chemoa Crites has been the Falcon’s primary goalkeeper and has a .735 save percentage with a 3.15 goals-against average.

The Hounds are 6-3 against UT-Permian Basin and have won two of the last three meetings. Last season, the teams split, with ENMU winning at home by a 3-2 score, and falling in a 1-0 decision on the road. Eastern is 2-3 on the road against UTPB.

The perennial powerhouse Rams are currently ranked seventh in the South Central region.

Eastern is 3-15-1 against Angelo State. The team’s last win in the series came on October 12, 2014, by a 2-0 score. Alyssa Prince netted the game-winner late in the first half and added an insurance goal in the second half.
