The memorial will begin at 6:46 am, with sirens sounding in remembrance of Flight 11 crashing into the North Tower. The memorial will conclude at 8:28 am with sirens sounding in remembrance of the collapse of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The attached image provides the times that sirens will sound, and when a moment of silence will be held, to honor the lives lost on September 11th.
A quarter century after the worst terror attack on American soil, the Portales Fire Department is inviting members of the community to honor the lives lost, and the courage of first responders, service members, and civilians during 9/11. The City of Portales appreciates the hard work, dedication, and personal sacrifices made by our first responders daily.
