Carolyn Fay Jennings was born to Earl Alvin Jennings and Avis Sue(Kay) Miller on December 21, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas. She graduated from El Paso High School. She Married Carol Hubert Miller on October 2, 1954. He was a water engineer and was hired by the Federal Bureau of Reclamation to go to Afghanistan to work on a U.S. project there and Carolyn was allowed to go with him. While living there Carolyn enjoyed the opportunity to travel with Carol to Pakistan and India. They returned to the U.S and lived in Othello, Washington then on to Boulder City, NV, where he worked on the Boulder City Dam Project. Carolyn started working for the Internal Revenue Service. She joined the Desert Chapter 22 of the Order of Eastern Star. where she served as Matron. She remained a member of the Desert Chapter her whole life and was awarded a 50-year membership pen in March of 2009. They retired and moved to Portales, NM. Carolyn enjoyed doing crafts and coloring and going places and eating out. She always loved birthday gatherings with her circle of “birthday sisters”, Helen Meagher, Lea Ann Johnson, Beverly Winnett, Voncile Turnbow, and Becky Hoksberger. She was always appreciative of the help Joe Montoya and Cora Stroud gave to her when she could no longer drive. She passed away on June 12, 2022. She is survived by her brother, Jim Jennings of Dallas, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. A Graveside Service will be conducted for her at 1:00 p.m., June 17, 2022, at the Portales Cemetery.
