David Brown found guilty by a jury of Trafficking a Controlled Substance

Clovis, NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Quentin Ray, announced that David Brown, age 53, of Clovis, was found guilty on March 22, 2024, by a Curry County jury of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, a Second-Degree Felony.

On January 25, 2023, Officers from the Adult Probation and Parole Office conducted a home visit to Brown at a local hotel.  APO Officers along with the Clovis Police Department found 10 grams of methamphetamines, black tar heroin, Xanex and fentanyl pills. David Brown was arrested and taken into custody.

The Honorable Fred Van Soelen presided over the trial.  David Brown was taken into custody immediately upon the guilty verdict.  Sentencing will be set at a later date.

Jon Harris, Assistant District Attorney prosecuted the case for the State. Brown was represented by Criminal Defense Attorney, Kaitlyn Cochran with the Law Office of the Public Defender.
