The Eastern New Mexico University baseball team swept Saturday’s Lone Star Conference doubleheader against UT Permian Basin to achieve a historic results. The two victories allowed the Greyhounds to clinch their second-ever trip to the league tournament, and their first since the 2009 season.

West Texas A&M secured the top seed and will host next week’s Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament after taking 3-of-4 contests at Angelo State last weekend. Tarleton State secured the second seed, while Texas A&M-Kingsville, Angelo, and UT Permian Basin round out the tournament field, respectively.

Fifth-seeded ENMU meets fourth seeded Angelo State, on Thursday at 6 p.m. MT, in the opening game of the single-elimination tournament. The winner of that game will advance to face #West Texas A&M, on Friday at 6 p.m. All games this weekend will be streamed for free on the LSC GameCentral portal. Links for video and live statistics will be posted when available. The game will be broadcast by the Voice of the Greyhounds, Dr. Don Elder on KSEL 1450 AM.

The tournament will be hosted by WT and played at Wilder Park. An automatic berth in the NCAA South Central regional tournament will be awarded to the LSC Tournament champion.
