Clovis, NM – August 21, 2025 — EPCOG Awarded $428,571 Capacity Building Grant to
Strengthen Local Communities

The Eastern Plains Council of Governments (EPCOG) has received a $428,571 Capacity Building
Grant to help empower municipalities and districts across its seven-county service region. The funding
will provide reimbursements for professional development, access to on-call specialists in areas such as
grant writing and finance, and the hosting of regional trainings on essential topics like governmental
conduct, ethics, and financial management.

“This grant gives our communities the tools and expertise they need to succeed,” said Sandy Chancey,
EPCOG Executive Director. “Whether it’s training for local officials, access to technical specialists, or
opportunities to collaborate regionally, we are building stronger foundations for Eastern New Mexico.”
