Ellen Christine Cereceres July 10, 1967 ~ May 11, 2026 (age 58)

Graveside services for Ellen Cereceres, 58, of Portales will be held at 10:00 AM, June 5, 2026 in the Portales Cemetery with Mary Marez officiating.

Ellen Christine Cereceres was born July 10, 1967, in Rocky Ford, CO to the home of Stella Irene (Gonzales) and Rudolfo Cadena Cereceres, and passed from this life on the evening of May 11, 2026 at her home in Portales.  Her early years were lived in Muleshoe and Farwell, TX, and graduated from Farwell High School in 1985.  She went on to earn an Associates Degree in Business from Clovis Community College.

For several years she worked at Graham Abstract Co. in Portales, and later as a lab technician for Dairy Farmers of America.  It was seeing the trucks come and go that caught her interest, and she decided to become a semi driver.  For the last 13 years she drove trucks, first for K Barnett Construction and most recently hauling milk for Indian River Trucking Co.  Ms Cereceres enjoyed listening to Spanish music and watching movies.  She loved to spend time with her family and her many friends.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lorena and Alex Urban of Clovis and Helena Cordova; six grandchildren, Mireya, Myra, Illianna and Nikola Urban and Zavier and Azaylia Casarez; three sisters, Rose Trujillo and husband, Mike, Elizabeth Serna and husband, Jose Soto and Estelle Cano and husband, Rafael all of Clovis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Raymond Serna and Joe Pantoya and a sister, Melissa Cereceres.
