The Eastern New Mexico rodeo program hosted the College Daze Rodeo in Portales at the Lewis Cooper Arena September 16-18. The event saw over 600 contestants in three days of action and was the largest ENMU home rodeo in 56 years.

The women’s team finished the weekend fourth overall while the men’s team finished seventh.

Trent Wood clocked a time of 8.9 seconds in the long round of tiedown roping to split second and third and 9.7 seconds in the short go to place fifth. In the average, he finished fifth as well.

In barrel racing, Shacie Marr split fourth and fifth in the short go and was fifth in the average, while Madelyn Schauer was fifth in the first go.

Both Marr and Schauer made it to the short go in goat tying.

The rodeo program heads next to the Sul Ross State University Rodeo Sept. 23-25.
