Clovis, NM – September 21, 2026 — The Eastern Plains Council of Governments (EPCOG) is excited to announce its selection as a Regional Hub organization for the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Healthy Horizons initiative, with an award of $7,904,851.99 to support efforts across Colfax, Guadalupe, Harding, Mora, Quay, San Miguel, and Union Counties.
Healthy Horizons is a statewide effort to strengthen health care access and delivery in rural New Mexico by connecting local communities, health care providers, and regional organizations. As a Regional Hub, EPCOG will help bring together partners across the seven-county region to identify opportunities, coordinate efforts, and support locally driven approaches to improving health care.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our region,” said Sandy Chancey, Executive Director of EPCOG. “Our communities know what they need, and this initiative gives us another opportunity to bring people together, build connections, and help turn those ideas into meaningful improvements for the people we serve.”
EPCOG will work with the New Mexico Health Care Authority and regional partners to finalize the scope of work and budget. Additional information about the initiative and opportunities for involvement will be shared as planning moves forward.
