Imagine, for a moment, that God really is who he says he is: the God of your days and your nights, of your future and your past; the God of all. What an impertinence worry is! Set aside your worries, and let your attitude be one of eager adventure.
(Excerpt from Oswald Chambers – My Utmost for His Highest)
I entered the text above in Grok and was pleasantly surprised by the summary:
To truly grasp that God is the sovereign Lord of time—of every dawn and dusk, of every yesterday and tomorrow—is to stand before a reality so vast that our anxieties begin to look absurdly small.
Worry, in that light, is not just unproductive; it is almost an act of forgetfulness. It is as though we momentarily forget who He has revealed Himself to be and start acting as if the weight of the future rests on our shoulders alone.
Moses at the burning bush did not receive a detailed itinerary. He received “I AM WHO I AM.” That was enough.
The God who simply is—eternal, unchanging, all-sufficient—steps into our finite stories and says, “I will be with you.” Not “I will explain everything to you,” but “I will be everything you need.”
So yes—let worry be exposed for the impertinence it is. Replace it with the wide-eyed posture of a child who trusts that the One who holds the universe holds her hand.
**Life becomes not a problem to be solved in advance, but an adventure to be lived in His presence.**
This is a gentle but firm reminder to lift our eyes from the winding path to the One who walks it with us.
For the Lord has said “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
