The Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team (5-6) held a decisive 45-37 rebounding advantage against fourth-ranked Lubbock Christian (12-1), which included an 18-7 edge on the offensive glass. The Lady Chaps overcame that disadvantage to post a 64-55 win over Eastern on Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Arena. Mikaehla Connor led Eastern with 15 points and seven rebounds.

The Key Run
Facing a 35-20 deficit with 1:20 left in the first half, Eastern’s Brandi Gomez hit a short jumper
Connor followed with five straight points as the Hounds exploded on an 18-66 run
Late in the third quarter, Kaylee Edgemon capped the run with back-to-back treys as the Hounds closed within 41-38 with 3:42 left in the third quarter
The Hounds would pull within three points just once more, 51-48, on a fastbreak trey from Gomez with 7:01 left in the game
