PORTALES, NM —Centerfielder Reynaldo Guillen batted .400 with a double and two runs batted in for the Eastern New Mexico University baseball team (7-4) over Saturday’s doubleheader at Greyhound Baseball Field. Angelo State (12-5) picked up a 9-5 win in the opener and a 6-1 decision in the nightcap.

Game 2
The Rams capitalized on a pair of ENMU errors to take a 2-0 first-inning lead, which was stretched to 4-0 in the fourth
Alex DeLaCruz registered the Hounds’ first hit of the game, one-out into the ENMU fourth
After stealing second base, DeLaCruz scored on a two-out hit from Julian Heredia
Angelo State added two insurance runs in the fifth inning
Cesar Capellan went 4.1 innings for ENMU and scattered six hits
Victor Persad wrapped up the game and allowed one unearned run over 2.1 innings
Malcolm Smith and Garlind Webster both had hits for Eastern
Trent Baker went five innings for the Rams and earned the win after allowing one run on four hits with seven strikeouts

Game 1
The Rams exploded for four runs in the top of the first inning of the opener
Guillen delivered a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the frame to halve ENMU’s deficit
Jacob Boston hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning and ASU capitalized on a Greyhound error to push their lead to 6-2
After Angelo State plated two more runs in the fourth inning, the Hounds managed to score three straight times and pull within 8-5
Michael Urquidi’s leadoff single in the sixth, followed by two stolen bases led to ASU’s final run of the game
DeLaCruz, Andrew Stubbs and Juliann Heredia all doubled for the Hounds
Jared Velasco earned the win for Angelo State
