CANYON, TEXAS — Julian Heredia had a three-run homer and missed hitting for the cycle by a triple as the Eastern New Mexico University baseball team (14-10; LSC 0-4) concluded its first Lone Star Conference series of the season. The Hounds held a lead against #16 West Texas A&M (22-7; LSC 4-0), but dropped a 21-12 decision on Sunday at Wilder Park.

Garlind Webster, Heredia and Alex DeLaCruz had consecutive one-out singles in the first inning to give ENMU a 1-0 lead
Chris Padilla followed with a two-run single to stake the Hounds to a 3-0 lead
Webster’s sacrifice fly in the second inning plated Eurick Perez
DelaCruz followed with a two-out RBI single to plate Zach Shank for a 5-0 lead
WT sent 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the second inning and scored seven runs
Malcom Smith and Padilla drove in runs in the third and fourth innings to tie the game at 7-all
West Texas A&M plated five runs in the bottom of the fourth and continued to pull away for the win
