Hounds Add Jannick Lange to 2020 Signing Class

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico head men’s soccer coach Jon Fridal is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Jannick Lange.

Lange will join the Hounds in the fall of 2020 following a two-year career at Culver-Stockton College, an NAIA school in Canton, Missouri, in which he was named team captain prior to his sophomore season. The 6’0 native of Elmshorn, Germany appeared in 37 games at Culver-Stockton, starting in 35 of those matches while totaling three goals.

He was named the team’s “Newcomer of the Year” following an outstanding freshman season and continued that solid play as a center midfielder for the Wildcats this last season. Lange finished with two goals last season and eight shot on goal attempts in 18 contests.

Lange competed for multiple youth teams of Kummerfelder SV in his native Germany during his prep career and plans on continuing his professional career in soccer or becoming a personal trainer upon graduation. He enjoys going to the gym and travelling during his free time.

Lange adds yet another option to what will be a deep and talent filled roster for coach Fridal this fall. The Hounds broke the program record for wins in a single season with a record of 12-5-1 last year and reached as high as no. 9 in the national polls earlier this fall.
