Funeral services for Levi Thomas Edwards, 57, of Clovis, will be at 2:00 PM, Thurs., May 4, 2017 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Brad Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Lucas Aranda, Daniel Caywood, Mike Riggan, Jason Wilbanks, Dale Lebow and Scotty Beavers serving as pallbearers. Mike Hatterton, Alex Hatterton and Phillip Gonzales will be honorary pallbearers. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Wed., Dec. 3, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM.
Levi Thomas Edwards was born Mar. 26, 1960 in Hobbs, NM to the home of Verma Ray (Rogers) and Luther Thomas Edwards and died at his home in Clovis on April 27, 2017. Mr. Edwards grew up in Eastern New Mexico and Central and West Texas. He attended high School in Gustine, TX. After high school, he worked at various jobs until 1978, when he began working at Southwest Canners in Portales. Levi was employed there until 2007 when he was injured on the job. During those years, he worked at a wide variety of jobs ranging from being on the production line to working in supervisory positions.
On Oct 23, 1980 in Portales, he was married to Lisa Payton. Mr. Edwards was a devoted family man, who loved to spend time with his wife and children.  He also liked to go hunting and fishing and playing basketball with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by Lisa, his wife of more than 36 years of Clovis; a son and daughter-in-law, Levi Thomas Edwards, Jr. and Missi of Findlay, OH; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Marie and Matthew Rivers of Portales; four grandchildren, Levi Thomas Edwards, III, Alexis Cameron Edwards, Matthew Lee Rivers, Jr. and Andrew Joseph Rivers; his father, Luther “Tommy” Edwards of Portales; and two brothers, Carl Steffen Edwards of Portales and Shawn Mark Edwards of Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Verma “Peggy” Edwards who died April 2, 1998 and a sister, Barbara Riley.
