We humans have a tendency to complicate and make things unnecessarily difficult.

James even admonished the early church about this in the book of Acts.

“Therefore I conclude that we should not cause extra difficulty for those among the Gentiles who are turning to God”  Acts 15:19 NET

Jesus set the example and even modeled prayer for us.  We should seek to follow His instructions.

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.” Matthew 6:5-8 NKJV

Pray Like This … 🙏

“Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”  Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV

But, it gets even better, Jesus did not leave us to our own devices.  He sent the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth.

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.

And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of the saints according to God’s will.

And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose”  Romans 8:26-28 NET
