Mary Elizabeth (Landen) Keith December 17, 1953 ~ July 9, 2026 (age 72)

     Funeral services for Mary Keith, 72, of Portales, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Generations Church with Pastor Todd Terry officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Wheeler Mortuary from 6-7 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026.

Mary Elizabeth Keith was born on December 17, 1953, to the home of Donna (Mecken) and Orville Landen and passed away on July 9, 2026, in Clovis.

Mary grew up in Pinedale, Wyoming and graduated from Pinedale High School. She was the oldest of three siblings. She received her LPN Degree from Casper College.  After college she joined the United States Air Force and did maintenance on F4 Aircraft.  She was first stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, then transferred to Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany. Later she was stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey and then at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base in South Carolina. During this time, she began working as the Training Manager for the Squadron.  Mary was later transferred to Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis where she retired after 20 years of service.

Mary was a member of Generations Church in Portales for more than 25 years.  She would go to help on Mission Trips to Belize.  Mary enjoyed bargain hunting for many things that she may need later.  She would stock up on gifts needed last minute or items she could send on the Mission Trips for those in need.  Mary also enjoyed walking, cooking for others and making gift baskets and fake flower arrangements.  She especially loved going shopping with and spoiling her granddaughters.

Mary is survived by her son, Michael Keith & wife Lacy of Portales; a brother, William Landen & wife Robyn of Casper, Wyoming; two grandchildren, Zoe Winfield and Lyla Keith, and three nephews & niece, Nick Landen, Zachary Landen and Hailey Bloom.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Orville & Donna Landen, and a brother, Thomas Landen.
