Morning Reading – Second Thessalonians

The coming judgement of God is often mischaracterized and difficult to understand in our finite human minds.  Nevertheless, God will fulfill every detail He has spoken.

“With flaming fire He will *mete out punishment* on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength,”

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 NET

“Consequently God sends on them a deluding influence so that they will *believe what is false*.  And so all of them who have not believed the truth but have delighted in evil will be condemned.”

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 NET

But Those Who “Believe” have a Living Hope in Christ Jesus…

“Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by grace gave us eternal comfort and *good hope*, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good thing you do or say.”

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 NET

“… that we may be delivered from perverse and evil people. For not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”

2 Thessalonians 3:2-3 NET

THEREFORE, Do Not Grow Weary…

“But you, brothers and sisters, do not grow weary in doing what is right.”

2 Thessalonians 3:13 NET

“Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up.”  Galatians 6:7-9 NET
