The Pregnancy Resource Center, located at 1412 South Ave O (Suite A), offers free and confidential services to anyone seeking education about different stages of pregnancy, searching for knowledge on their options for birth control, or even looking for support after the loss of a child.  It’s a place where men and women of all ages are welcomed and encouraged to make sound decisions based on education and knowledge, surrounding all their birth control and pregnancy questions.

The Pregnancy Resource Center offers many services.  From pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to confirm pregnancy, birth control education, abortion education, and prenatal, parenting and breastfeeding classes, to peer counseling, limited STD/STI testing, material assistance for mother and baby, and miscarriage and infant loss support, they leave no stone unturned in aiding in the education of any stage of pregnancy.  The center’s client advocates are trained to explain facts to those who seek help and aid them in making informed decisions.

Perhaps one of the most influential services offered by The Pregnancy Resource Center is the availability of classes called, “Earn While You Learn”.  These are classes offered to anyone who would like to learn more about a healthy pregnancy or newborn/toddler care, all the way to things like positive relationship and marriage classes.  Classes are 1 on 1 with a client advocate and are offered daily but do require an appointment.  There is an option to bring your children along if you don’t have access to a babysitter.  As a client, you earn “baby bucks” to spend in the on-sight boutique for new and gently used items.  The boutique only accepts these baby bucks for payment and offers items like diapers, wipes, clothes, car seats, and cribs, to name just a few.  All items at the boutique are donated.

The center’s main goal is to be a place of accessibility, acceptance, and education for people of all ages.  Executive Director, Carla Miller says, “We always say, ‘Crisis pregnancy does not discriminate.  We have clients ranging from 12 to 41.  Everyone is welcome.’”  There are classes offered for men, taught by men, so their doors are truly open to everyone, in any phase of their lives.

The Pregnancy Resource Center has two locations, one in Portales and the other in Clovis, and they operate under the guidance of a doctor. The Portales office is open Tuesday 12-8 and Thursday and Friday 9am-2pm.   The Clovis office is open 9am-5pm Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, as well as Tuesday 12pm-8pm.
