Portales Rams 7-1 (2-0 District)
FOOTBALL    After a week off, the Ram football team was on the road again, this time to the mountains  of Ruidoso.  In a Ram dominated game that could have easily ended by mercy rule at half-time, they continued with the Rams kicking a PAT instead of going for the two point conversion.  The second half gave the younger players some field time and the game ended in a 58-23 win for the Rams.  The Rams host Moriarty on Friday in their last home game of the season.  Moriarty comes in to our district for the first time this year and they are currently ranked number three.

SOCCER   On Thursday the Lady Ram Soccer team got their first win of the season.  After suffering 11 losses, the Lady Rams beat Ruidoso in overtime 3-2.  Kimberly Hay made the winning goal with a corner kick.
The boys followed with a 6-0 win over Ruidoso, getting back on the winning side after two losses the previous weekend.  On Saturday the Rams hosted NMMI and sent them home with a 2-1 loss. Although the Rams were hoping for a fourth seed, a first round bye, and a home game to start playoffs, the Rams received word today that they have been seeded fifth.
