SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Junior pitcher Leslie Reyes tossed a three-hit shutout and fanned four batters as the Eastern New Mexico University softball team (4-4) cruised to its third straight win at the St. Mary’s Classic. The Hounds picked up a 2-0 victory over Fort Hays State (1-4) at The Park at St. Mary’s University.

ENMU Shutouts
The shutout was ENMU’s first since last March 24, at home against UT Permian Basin
The last time the Hounds shut out an opponent away from home was March 4, 2017 at Midwestern State

In the Series
The win improved Eastern to 5-0 against Fort Hays
The contest was the first between the programs since an 8-0 decision in Portales on March 19, 2001

Pitchers Duel
The Hounds had five runners reach scoring position on four hits against FHSU’s Haiiley Chapman
Reyes limited the Tigers to three runners in scoring position and three singles for the game
Reyes retired the final 10 batters to seal the win

The Key Plays
Karina Moreno, Erikka Burke and Samantha Brockman led off the Greyhound fourth inning with three straight doubles to give ENMU a 2-0 lead it would not relinquish
