The Roosevelt County War Memorial Committee announced the walkway pavers at the Roosevelt County War Memorial, located on the Roosevelt County Courthouse square are still being sold and the next installation will occur prior to Veterans Day. Orders placed before Tuesday Nov. 6 at noon will be included.
Engraved pavers can be purchased in honor of someone who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The price for the 11-3/4”x7-3/4”paver is $125 and includes up to five lines that can include things such as name, rank, dates of service, where served, etc. A form to fill out for the inscription can be picked up at the Roosevelt County Chamber, 100 S. The memorial, which began as a project of the Portales High School Class of 1958, was paid for entirely by donations. It was dedicated on Memorial Day 2012.
