New Mexico’s Largest Winery to Cultivate the Pueblo’s Premium Wine Grapes while
Respecting the Heritage, Culture and Stewardship of Native Land
Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M. –
June 1, 2026 – The Pueblo of Santa Ana, a federally recognized
tribe of Native Americans in Sandoval County, N.M., and Lescombes Family Vineyards of
Deming, N.M., New Mexico’s largest winery, announce today a partnership for the cultivation of
premium wine grapes from the pueblo’s 26-acre Tamaya Vineyard. The varietals of the wines
produced from the grapes include chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier will expand the
winery’s wine portfolio while providing the Pueblo with a stable and reliable market for its
premier fruit.

grapes through sustainable farming practices while serving as a responsible custodian of land and
water resources.”

and extends through October 2031.
This partnership highlights the vitality of New Mexico-grown agriculture and demonstrates the
continued leadership of Native communities in innovation, stewardship, and premium crop
production. “The relationship reflects our commitment to quality, tradition, and the future of our
people,” said Ryan Garcia, director of agriculture of the Pueblo of Santa Ana. “We are proud to work
alongside Lescombes Family Vineyards to create opportunities for our community, strengthen New
Mexico agriculture, and bring outstanding wines to shelves across New Mexico.” The vineyard
incorporates proven methods such as cover cropping, livestock integration, and reduced chemical
inputs, ensuring long-term soil health and environmental protection within the Rio Grande Basin.

menus, we are crafting a dedicated wine specifically for the Pueblo to feature at its own
locations. This partnership allows guests at both our restaurants and theirs to experience a
product that truly celebrates the best of local cultivation.” The partnership’s first harvests from
the Tamaya Vineyard will begin this fall.
