LUBBOCK, TEXAS—Mason Swanson, Marcus Parker and Kenneth Lloyd earned Lone Star Conference titles for the Eastern New Mexico University indoor track & field teams as the league championship meet concluded on Sunday. The Greyhound women’s team placed fourth, when the men were fifth. Nine school records fell at the meet, while Parker set LSC and LSC Championship records in the 60m and 200m dashes.

The women’s team’s fourth-place finish tied the highest finish in program history.

Danee Bustos finished the meet strong and set a school record in the women’s 200m dash with a time of 24.52. Her third-place finish in the event came in a school-record time which ranks 18th in the NCAA Division II. She also set an ENMU record with a fifth-place performance in the high jump, provisionally qualifying with a leap of 5’5.75″. Bustos also took fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 56.03.

Swanson won the 800m dash with a time of 2:20.39.

Kandice Miles took fourth in both the 400m and 200m dashes. Her time of 55.96 was a Greyhound indoor record. She also crossed the finish line in the 200m at 24.57.

Lateria Slaughter took seventh in the 60m dash at 7.77. Abby Kepfer placed eighth in the one-mile at 5:32.97. Coley Norcross was seventh in the 3,000m. Hannah Cabledue set a school record in the pole vault of 10’8.25″ to place sixth.

Estephanie Mendes, Abbey Aultman, Brooke Walker, and Sierra Quinones placed sixth in the distance medley relay at 13:35.86. Bustos, Kiana Covington, Swanson and Miles were fifth in the 4×400 relay.

Parker won the 60m dash with a time of 6.67 to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. The time ranks third in the nation. He also automatically qualified in the 200m dash with a time of 21.01 to win the meet and rank second in the nation. Both times set LSC and LSC Championship records.

Ivar Moinat placed third in the 800m run and provisionally qualified with a time of 1:53.25. The mark was a school record.

Shane Walsh took fifth in the one-mile and tenth in the 3,000m. He finished at 4:22.79 and 9:08.48, respectively.

Louis Bolander, Jaren Brooks, Marcel Skalecki, and Garrett Meyer placed fourth in the distance medley relay at10:52.68. Travonne Armstead, Parker, Colby Bagwell, and Moinat took seventh in the men’s 4×400 relay.

Bagwell set an ENMU record with 4,509 points in the heptathlon to place seventh.

The Eastern New Mexico University track & field teams will return to action on Friday, March 9, 2018 for the NCAA Division II Championships. The event will be held in Pittsburg, Kan.
