Continuing in First Timothy this morning:

“Keep yourself pure … The sins of some people are obvious, going before them into judgment, but for others, they show up later. Similarly good works are also obvious, and the ones that are not **cannot remain hidden**.”  1 Timothy 5:22-25 NET

“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in can see the light. For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing concealed that will not be made known and brought to light.”  Luke 8:16-17 NET

All secrets, actions, and intentions will eventually be brought to light and made known.  In a biblical context, this emphasizes the omniscience of God, who sees everything, and serves as a reminder that His truth and justice will ultimately prevail.

“Therefore be very careful how you live – not as unwise but as wise, taking advantage of every opportunity, because the days are evil. For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise by understanding what the Lord’s will is.”  Ephesians 5:15-17 NET

Note: the author wanted to acknowledge how the good works by former Mayor Ron Jackson live on through his friends and co-workers as evidenced by this community wide clean-up!  He would be proud!
