Wanda Williams Obituary

Graveside services for Wanda Williams, 88, will be held at 10:30 AM, Mon., Dec. 8, 2025 in the Portales Cemetery with Randy Dunson officiating.  Her beloved family and dear friends have been named as honorary pallbearers.

Wanda Jean Williams was born July 29, 1937 to the home of Russell E. (Powers) and Leo P. Simnacher and passed from this life on the evening of Dec. 3, 2025 in Farwell, TX.  Mrs. Williams was a 1955 graduate of Portales High School.  During her early years she helped with the work on the family dairy.  On Feb. 3, 1955, she was married to Glen Spriggs.  The couple had two daughters before they divorced.

For a number of years she was employed as a teller at Sun West Bank in Clovis, and later was a clerk in the Motor Vehicle Office in Clovis.  While living Clovis, she was an active member of ABWA.  Wanda became acquainted with Robert “Bob” Williams who was a conductor for the railroad, and they married at the Methodist church in Belen on Feb. 28, 1983.  They made their home in Belen until 2019 when they moved to Lubbock.  She was a talented artist, painting numerous scenes in oil.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her two daughters, Pam LeClear and husband, David of Granbury, TX and Kim Edler of Lubbock, TX; four grandchildren, Cody Jones, Amanda Johnson, Theran Edler and Loren and Caleb Allison; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Jones, Antoin Johnson, Javon Jones and Alexis Jones; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Gay Simnacher of Clovis; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Evelyn and Jack Manning and Ruth Cox of Portales.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Robert who died May 2, 2022 after more than 39 years of marriage.
