According to Sammy Standefer – Portales City Manager, “crews have been working through the night , and nothing has been easy for them, but we are installing and tying  in a large piece of repair pipe now.  I’m cautiously optimistic that we can begin turning water on in the next hour or so.  When we do turn it on it will have to be very slowly so we don’t rupture something else. “

Short update for County residents from The Roosevelt County Water Coop page,” the city continues to make repairs on their damaged line. Unfortunately it was a 24″ line that split, so repairs are time consuming. Just spoke with our GM and they city does not have an E.T.A at this time. We understand they have worked thru the night and are continuing with the repairs. As always, we thank you for your patience and will restore the pump stations as soon as we are able.”

Roosevelt Review wants to say Thank You to the city workers that worked all night so that we might have water today!
