Wilma Lenora (Fraze) Buzard August 28, 1943 ~ November 1, 2025 (age 82)

     Funeral services for Wilma Lenora Buzard, 82, of Portales, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. C.J. Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Wade Fraze, Wes Fraze, Gary Fraze, Lyle Fraze, Braden Fraze and Mike Olson serving as pallbearers.

Wilma Lenora (Fraze) Buzard was born on August 28, 1943, in Portales, New Mexico, to the home of Zella Florene (Ragland) and Ralph Benjamin Fraze and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 1, 2025, in Portales, New Mexico.

Wilma grew up on the family farm and dairy in Dora where she attended all twelve years of school.  She gave her life to Jesus at the age of nine while attending the Dora Baptist Church where she also served as the pianist for several years.  Wilma attended ENMU for three and a half years until she met and married Jerry Buzard in 1964. They had two son, Scott and Dan who were the light of her life.  She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom until the boys started high school.  Wilma went to work at C.J.’s Pill Box where she was a pharmacy tech until she retired to care for her parents.  She enjoyed attending church and basketball games at ENMU while her son Dan was coaching there.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with family and spoiling her grandchild McKenzie.

Wilma Buzard was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry Max Buzard in 1991, her youngest son Dan Buzard in 2007, two brothers, Max Fraze and Gene Fraze and her parents Ralph and Zella Fraze.

She is survived by her son, Scott Buzard & wife Selina of McKinney, Texas; one grandchild, McKenzie Olson & husband Mike of Castle Rock, Colorado, one great grandchild, Kennedy Olson of Castle Rock, Colorado, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and her lifelong friend Jo Rackler of Portales, NM, to which the family is eternally grateful.
