PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team tips off tonight with an exhibition contest against Arizona before heading to Albuquerque to take on New Mexico in another exhibition matchup on Wednesday. The Greyhounds are coming off a Lone Star Conference championship last season with a 20-9 overall record and a 16-4 mark in league play.

ENMU returns 10 players from last year’s squad and was pegged to finish second in the LSC in the league’s preseason poll, picking up seven first place votes. Senior guard Mikaehla Connor is the top returner for the Hounds. The Dallas product earned First Team All-Conference, All-Defensive Team and All-Academic team a season ago, putting up 11.2 PPG, 4.7 RPG and 3.4 Ast./G. Forward Daeshi McCants was tabbed Third Team All-LSC last year, producing 9.3 points and 6.4 boards per game.

Following the trip to UNM on Wednesday, the Green and Silver tip off the regular season in Durango, Colo., taking on South Dakota School of Mines and Fort Lewis on Nov. 10-11.
