Women’s Soccer  Nicolle Holcomb

The Eastern New Mexico women’s soccer team opens Lone Star Conference play this week with games against Texas Woman’s University and Angelo State University. The Greyhounds welcome the Pioneers to Al Whitehead Field on Wednesday, September 22 at 12 p.m. and then travel to Angelo State for a 12 p.m. contest on Saturday, Sept. 25.

HOUNDS’ LAST TIME OUT

• Eastern is coming off a 3-1 loss to MSU Denver on Sunday, Sept. 19.
• Katey Stice scored the lone goal for the Greyhounds. Stice’s goal was her third of the season. She leads the team in both goals and points (6).
• Whitney Dockweiler made eight saves in net and is now 2-3 on the season.
• The Roadrunners held a 22-5 shot advantage throughout the contest. They also held an 11-3 advantage with shots on goal.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

• Texas Woman’s enters Wednesday’s game with a 3-0-2 overall record. The Pioneers are coming off a 1-0 victory over the University of Bridgeport on Thursday, Sept. 16. Keely Chapmen netted the game winner for TWU. Alexandra Jacinto made one save in net to secure the shutout.
• Angelo State has a 5-0 overall record (as of 9/20/21). The Rambelles picked up a 7-0 victory over New Mexico Highlands on Saturday, Sept. 18. Cindy Rogriguez led the team with two goals during the win. Prior to playing the Greyhounds, ASU will face St. Mary’s on Wednesday, Sept. 22.
