With a strong performance at last weekend’s NCAA Division II South Central Region Championship, Omer Almog from Eastern New Mexico University has extended his season. The Greyhound junior will head to Evansville, Ind., next weekend to compete in the National Championship meet.

Almog paced the 18th-place Greyhounds with a 14th-place finish. His time in the 10k run at West Texas A&M Range was 31:25.75. Almog crossed the finish line just over half a second after Logan Ramlet from Colorado-Mines.

Last season, Mercy Rotich represented the ENMU women’s team and registered a sixth-place finish. The last time a runner from the Greyhound men’s team qualified was in 2013, when Mikey Davila placed 54th.

The championship meet will be hosted by Southern Indiana University on Saturday, November 18th. The meet is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. MT.
