Obituary

A graveside service for Apolinar Ramirez, 69, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Portales Cemetery with Father Francisco Carbajal officiating.

Apolinar Ramirez was born on May 11, 1951, in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico to the home of Lucia Espitia and Leandro Ramirez, and entered the Gates of Heaven on October 19, 2020, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Apolinar was born in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and became a U.S. citizen in 1969.  He worked and lived around the U.S. until making Portales his home.  Apolinar is known for being a great father, grandfather, uncle, brother, son, cousin and friend.  This man loved to see what a new day would bring, “listo por todo”!  Watching the many talents his kids and grandchildren had was also something he loved! Being in his presence brought comfort to his loved ones.

Animals, nature and music were some of the many things he found interest in, even farming and construction as well. A go getter is what he was, he loved to work up until the days where he couldn’t any more.  But, not once did we ever see him give up.  Apolinar was a hardworking man with a lot of knowledge, always ready to show someone something new.  He was someone we could count on and look up to, he had charm like no other.

Even though his passing was very tragic for his family and friends, we do know that he is in a better place and no longer suffering.  He always had a great time being a pure soul who always had respect, a man of his word, un gran nombre que sus amigos y familia disfrutaron de su compania.

Everyone loved him, he was always so down to earth.

Apolinar is survived by his three sons, Apolinar Ramirez, Jr., Ramon and Leandro; one daughter, Leticia Ramirea; twelve grandchildren; his mother, Lucia Espitia Ramirez; four sisters; two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evangelina Ramirez; his father, Leandro Ramirez; a brother, Mario Ramirez; a daughter, Monica Ramirez and a granddaughter, McKenzie Marquez.
