Portales MainStreet is currently selling engraved 8×8 beige tiles to display in the foyer at the Historic Yam Theatre. These tiles are engraved by a local business and can feature your business logo, family name, or in memory of a loved one. Once engraved tiles are filled in with a black stain to really bring out your logo or name and are place between beautiful oak wood trim. Each tiles costs only $200 with a tax deductible receipt upon request.
The Yam Tile Endowment started when we opened our doors in December 2010. Many people assume that since it’s a city building, the city takes care of everything. While we have a great working relationship with the City of Portales, the small fixes to the venue and janitorial duties fall into Portales MainStreet’s hand. Money raised helps our organization pay rent to the City of Portales, continue updates to our sound system and project, and overall aesthetics to the venue.
