Eastern New Mexico volleyball’s 2022 schedule is out, announced head coach Sia Poyer. “We are looking forward to another exciting season,” said Poyer. The Greyhounds will have three tournaments before heading into conference play, with 16 Lone Star Conference matchups and eight home contests.

To kick-off the season, ENMU heads to Midland, Texas for the Dr. Steve Aicinena “Iceman” Invitational from Aug. 26-27. The Hounds will play University of the Southwest to open the regular season followed by the host UT Permian Basin. The next day, Eastern will lineup against Augustana and Southeastern Oklahoma St. Soon after, the Greyhounds travel to Wayland Baptist in Plainview, Texas.

Eastern head to its second tournament in Denton, Texas, for the Denton Volleyfest hosted by LSC rival Texas Women’s University. ENMU opens against Northwestern Oklahoma St. on Sept. 3. The Hounds end its trip in Texas with matches against East Central and Missouri Southern St. on Sept. 4.

For its final tune-up before conference play, ENMU will head to Austin, Texas for the LSC Crossover. In a three-day span, Sept. 8-10, the Hounds will face Oklahoma Christian, hosts St. Edward’s, and Texas A&M-Kingsville in a trio of non-conference matchups.

The Hounds home opener will also serve as the first game in Lone Star Conference play. ENMU take the court in Greyhound Arena on Sept. 16 when Oklahoma Christian comes to Portales. The next day, UAFS will battle Eastern to close out the first weekend of LSC action.

Eastern takes its first league road trip traveling to UT Tyler on Sept. 23, and playing the next day at DBU, Sept. 24. From then, the Hounds start a four-game home stand, beginning with a midweek clash with Texas Woman’s on Sept. 28. Then, the Hounds have a pair of games on homecoming weekend, facing St. Mary’s on Sept. 30, and St. Edward’s on Oct. 1. Finally, the homestretch ends with a midweek game against Midwestern State, Oct. 5.

ENMU continues the month of October with six straight road games, starting in Midland, Texas against UTPB on Oct. 7. The next day, Eastern battles 2021 LSC regular season champion Angelo State. The following weekend, the Hounds face Texas A&M-International, Oct. 14, and Texas A&M-Kingsville, Oct. 15., on the road. Then, a trip to Cameron, Oct. 21, and head to reigning LSC tournament champion West Texas A&M, Oct. 22, to finish the 2022 road slate.

The final weekend of the regular season will be at Greyhound Arena with the penultimate game of the season against Lubbock Christian, Nov. 2. They Greyhounds will host senior night on Nov. 4, with a matchup against in-state rival Western New Mexico in the regular season finale.
