WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS —Facing a halftime deficit to the 16th-ranked team in the nation, the Eastern New Mexico University women’s soccer team faced a daunting task in its season finale. On the strength of two second-half goals from sophomore forward Ariel Lopez, the Greyhounds (4-8-6; LSC 3-5-4) accomplished that task with a 2-1 victory over Midwestern State (11-5-1; 6-4-1) at Stang Park.

“Our organization was massive tonight,” Head Coach Ryan Spencesaid. “Ariel was patient in the final third. That Eastern grit was there tonight.”

With the win, the Greyhounds have clinched the fifth seed in the upcoming Lone Star Conference Championships. Seedings and matchups will be posted at www.LoneStarConference.org later in the weekend.
