Mark Thomas Clark March 8, 1972 ~ September 15, 2026 (age 54)

Mark Thomas Clark was born on March 8 th , 1972, in Albuquerque NM to Tom and Karen Clark. He went to be with Heavenly Father the morning of September 15th, 2026.

Services will be held in the Guy Luscombe Gymnasium in Dora, NM on September 26 th, 2026, at 2:00pm with Don Thomas and Gary Clark officiating. Burial will be at Long’s Cemetery immediately following the services.

Pallbearers include McCray Clark, Gary Clark, Doug Pfaffenberger, Eddy Privett, Bud DaBell, Chance Turney, Haiden Padgett, and James Rooney. Honorary pallbearers include all members of Dora, Arch, Causey, Milnesand, and Portales Fire Departments.

Shortly after birth, the Clark family moved from Albuquerque to the Rogers community.  He grew up on “The Farm” with his five sisters Dawn, Tracy, Michelle, Lezlie, and Heather. Mark was a true farm kid spending his days outside working in the fields, working cattle, repairing equipment, catching critters, exploring, pestering his sisters, and keeping his mother on her toes. Mark was the top student of the “Tom Clark Agricultural School of Hard Knocks” and was always looking over his father’s shoulder.  He attended and graduated from Dora Schools in 1990. Within those years, he was involved in basketball, volleyball, and track. His passion in high school was FFA, BPA, and mischief, where he competed in many competitions and won many awards. He attended Eastern New Mexico University. Marks first employment was at C&S from 1990 to 2015 where he started in the parts department and eventually built a legacy in the dairy industry. After his time at C&S, he started his own dairy service company, MTC Solutions, with his son McCray learning the trade. He was known for his dependability and exceptional service day or night. It was not uncommon to see McCray and Maislyn following in his footsteps at the dairies.

He married Stacey Lujan Clark in 1995 and together they had two amazing children.  McCray Thomas was born in August of 1998, and Maislyn Elise was born in August of 2001. McCray and Sarah promoted him to Grumpy in 2020 with Paisley Sage and is expecting another granddaughter any second now. Mark was a true Samaritan. He taught his children the value of leadership and selflessness by putting in countless hours volunteering as a fire fighter and EMT on the Dora, Arch, and Causey fire departments. Mark showed how big his heart was by serving as chairman for Relay for Life and cooking and serving meals at the VFW. He traveled countless miles and spent endless hours supporting Dora athletes and students.

Mark is survived by the mother of his children, Stacey Lujan Clark, his children McCray (Sarah) and Maislyn, granddaughter Paisley and one to still be named, all of Portales, NM. His parents Tom and Karen Clark of Portales, NM. Sisters Dawn Hatten (Jon) of Buda TX, Tracy Belcher Dabell (Bud) of Clovis, NM, Michelle Clark of Rogers, NM, Lezlie Privett (Eddy) of Portales, NM, Heather Pfaffenberger (Doug) of Portales, NM, and bonus brother Gary Clark (Rhonda) of Childress, TX. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be missed greatly by his four-legged best friend, Pyper.

Mark was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents, his grandmothers-in-law, his Aunt Barbara, and his cousins, Clinton Clark, Doyle Allen, Jim Fisher, Marty Clark, Monte Allen, and Lana Clark.

Mark was a man of quiet faith. He didn’t often go to church, but he brought the church to the people. He felt closest to God sitting outside looking at the stars.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Lubbock, TX, local volunteer fire departments, Clinton Clark Scholarship fund, or to any charity of your choice.
