he Eastern New Mexico men’s basketball team travels to the University of Texas at Tyler and Texas A&M University-Commerce this weekend. The Hounds face the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 13 before taking on the Lions on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 3 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

• The Eastern New Mexico men’s basketball team enters the week with a 6-6 overall record and 2-1 mark in Lone Star Conference play. ENMU went 2-0 last week with a 65-62 overtime victory against Oklahoma Christian on Jan. 6 and a 62-59 come from behind win over UAFS on Jan. 8.
• Against OC, Kentrell Pullian had a game and career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double. Cornell Greenwood finished the contest with 12 points, while James Jordan added 11 points. On the glass, Marvin Mapaga pulled down eight rebounds.
• Against UAFS, Pullian once again led the offense with 19 points, while JaQuan Morris netted 13 points. Mapaga paced the squad on the glass with nine rebounds. Pullian was close behind with eight boards.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION

UT Tyler
• The UT Tyler Patriots enter the weekend with a 9-2 overall record and 1-1 record in conference play.
• The Patriots fell, 79-67, to No. 11 nationally-ranked West Texas A&M on Jan. 8. Zaire Mateen led UT Tyler with 11 points, while Eysan Wiley and Soloman Thomas each had 10 points. Wiley also paced the team in rebounds with six.
• Offensively, Micah Fuller leads the squad with 12.4 points per game. Da’Zhon Wyche adds 11.1 points per game and Wiley contributes 10.0 points per game. Defensively, Milan Szabo averages 6.5 rebounds per contest.

Texas A&M-Commerce
• Texas A&M-Commerce enters the weekend with a 10-2 overall record and 2-1 record in conference play. The Lions will face No. 1 nationally-ranked Lubbock Christian on Jan. 13 before playing the Greyhounds.
• The Lions fell, 79-69, to No. 11 West Texas A&M on Jan. 6. Carson Tuttle led the team offensively with 18 points, while Augustine Ene and Alphonso Willis each had 11 points. Demarcus Demonia and Clashon Gaffney paced the team in rebounds with six each.
• Jarius Roberson paces the offense with 12.5 points per game, while Ene and Willis each average 12.1 points per contest. Demonia pulls down 7.2 rebounds per game and Willis is close behind with 6.5 rebounds per game.
