The City of Portales Public Works Street Superintendent has advised City Hall that there will be temporary street closures on Tuesday (10/22/19) and Wednesday (10/23/19) for the Local Government Road Fund (LGRF) chip seal program for the following streets:
7th Street between Abilene and Dallas, and
W. University Drive between Avenue D and Avenue A, and
Avenue D between 1st Street and Second Street
Then, beginning Monday, 10/28/19 street work will start on 18th Street from New Mexico Drive to Avenue O. This work will take approximately two weeks to complete. Please drive safely and watch for men and equipment on these streets. Thank you for your assistance.

Road repair performed on University this past week is horrible.
Where can the public go to complain of the roughness, flying rocks, dust and overall appearance?
This is a very nice neighborhood that has become like driving down a dirt rock road.
We appreciate trying to improve our roads, but this is awful!
Rhonda, we are so sorry that the road repairs on University have been tough to navigate! If you have complaints or concerns, you can contact the City of Portales. They are the ones who manage all roadwork projects.
