J. D. HEISKELL & COMPANY

Overnight, vandals broke into J.D. Heiskell & Co.’s facilit y. They stole tools, equipment, and unfortunately, opened a valve on a tank storing mineral oil in the maintenance building, causing a significant spill. The spill leaked within JDH’ s facility, and drained to the exterior of the building and ran offsite.

JDH has contacted the appropriate authorities as well as environmental engineers to ensure that any damages as a result of the spill are limited, and that clean-up is done properly and safely. The Company is actively working to get the spill cleaned up as quickly as possible.

While JDH is disappointed with the actions of the vandals, the Company is more concerned about the well-being of its community. If your eyes or skin have come into contact with the mineral oil, please flush eyes thoroughly or wash skin with soap and water, and wash any clothing that may have also come in contact with the mineral oil.
This mineral oil is not to be ingested. If you or anyone you know has ingested the mineral oil, please contact medical assistance. Additionally, JDH has been told that the mineral oil may cause some damage to the exterior of vehicles. If your vehicle was splattered by the mineral oil, it is suggested that you wipe down the splattered area with warm water and mild detergent, and safely dispose of the rag. Once the spot is treated, your vehicle can be cleaned at a commercial car wash. If you have any additional concerns, please contact JDH’ s General Manager, Dean McIntosh at 806-681-5974.

JDH apologizes for any inconveniences this may have caused. The Company is working diligently to fix this issue.
