DENVER, Colo. – Nationally ranked T-#23 Colorado School of Mines, handed ENMU its first loss of the season following an 84-50 defeat, on Thursday night in Golden, Colo. The Hounds move to 3-1, while the Orediggers keep its perfect record at 3-0.

Natalie Stice began the game with a three to start the ENMU offense. However, Mines went a 16-3 run over the next six minutes of the period. MeMe Amand and Stice both found the basket in the remainder of the quarter, with the Orediggers holding a 24-9 advantage after one period.

Mines continued its clinical shooting to open the second frame, jumping out to a 27-9 lead. Anasha HurstJulia ChavezIyanna McCurdy, and Amand each found the basket, as the Hounds sparked an 8-2 run, 29-17 Mines. However, the Orediggers offense continued to cause problems through the rest of the period, with both teams heading into the half with the scoreboard reading 40-23 Mines.

The Orediggers continued its efficient offense in the second half, opening the quarter on a 10-0 run. ENMU continued to chip away at the Mines lead with McCurdy finding the four points at the end of the third quarter. Mines held a 64-33 lead after three periods.

Eastern would go back and forth with the Orediggers in the final period. The teams traded baskets, with Stice finding eight consecutive points for the Greyhounds. In the end, Mines took the contest 84-50.
