Pamela Lou Inge of Portales, NM passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on February 14, 2026 while in Covenant Medical Center at Lubbock, TX. She was born September 22, 1952 in Clovis, NM to Ida Lou & James Carl Inge but they brought her home to their first home in Portales, NM. She lived briefly in Lubbock, TX around the early 1980s but came back to Portales which was home.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 11:30am mountain standard time in the University Baptist Church located at 1012 W. 15th St. in Portales, NM.
She is survived by many loving cousins as she was an only child, her only 1st cousin being Richard Brown of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Carl & Ida Lou Inge and both her Uncles and their wives, Curtis & Bertha Brown of California and Jimmie & Margie Brown of Arizona.
She graduated from Portales high school after attending all of her K-12 education years of schooling there and went on to Graduate at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Magna Cum Laude.
With all those smarts she still chose to work with her dad & mom in the family business of Inge Recycling until the untimely death of her dad. At which time she worked mainly in retail until her accident which left her with chronic back pain that greatly inhibited her functionality. She had several care givers over the years who became like family and recently that circle grew with specialist and physical therapist who she spoke highly of. She had numerous friends as well especially those that lived close to her who became like family and even though it was getting harder and harder for Pam to walk, she managed to maintain her independence which was very import to her.
She will be remembered for her musical abilities including her talented singing and guitar playing most especially of the old Gospel Hymns, folk music and Christmas songs. She had a sharp wit and loved to laugh. Even though her physical challenges kept her from participating at church services recently, she had deep roots in the Gospel and worked with the youth in a program called “Grace” while in Lubbock. She was baptized and confirmed in the Community of Christ church at a young age while also receiving a Patriarchal Blessing in her early teens. Over the past 40ish years she shared her ministry of music at the Clovis congregation anytime that she felt able to attend, remaining a member until her passing, even though the Clovis congregation has not been meeting in person since the pandemic.
