Waking up the last few days, you probably listened to the sound of a storm outside. The pitter patter of the rain on our windows, and the soft distant thunder, is a sound that calms the soul. It’s a sound that means our dry land is being nourished.

“Only God could know that making certain sounds in nature would calm the human soul.”

That statement is something so simple, but so true. There are sounds, much like the falling rain, that just soothes our weary souls. It’s sounds like soft falling rain, a babbling brook, or the wind howling through tall pine trees in the mountains. Maybe for you, it’s the sound of waves lapping on the sandy beach. Whatever the sound may be, it’s something of God’s doing, and something only He could bring to fruition.

“He gives rain on the earth, and sends water on the fields.”

Job 5:10

When we think about the vast greatness of the world we live in, we should be reminded of how amazing our God is. He created the grass, and brings rain to make it grow. He created the oceans, rivers, lakes, and creeks. He created mountains and valleys, hills and oceans, swamps and deserts.

Everything about our beautiful planet was created by His divine design, and all for our benefit while we live here.

So as you go into the weekend, remind yourself that God is incredible, and that we are so blessed to serve Him. He is good.
