This week’s pet of the week will be Artemis.
Artemis is a 4–6-month-old female German shepherd. Artemis is a total lovebug who aims to please everyone she meets. She loves chin and belly scratches and wants to be a lap dog. Artemis will need basic training as she is still such a young pup, but she is a smart girl and will learn quickly. If you are looking for a beautiful, intelligent, and affectionate fur baby who loves to give snuggles and kisses, she’s “pawsitively” perfect!

The Portales Police Department provides full-service animal control to all residents within the Portales city limits. Animal Control Officers attend state certification classes and are trained to handle calls for service that involve domestic animals or wildlife. The Division provides patrol service six days per week and may be called out after hours in case of an emergency.
