Portales Struggles in Tournament Against Texas Opponent
Along with the girls, the Portales Rams have been hosting their annual Shootout Tournament for 2020. The Rams faced a Texas opponent in tournament play on January 10, 2020. Lubbock Christian High School traveled to join in the tournament, and proved to be a good match for the Rams.
The score for the 2 teams went back and forth the entire first half. Portales ended up in the lead at halftime by 1-point, with a score of 33-32. When the teams came out after half, Portales narrowly dominated the 3rd period also, and came out on top 45-42. Unfortunately for the Rams, Lubbock Christian kicked into gear in the 4th, and overcame their deficit, winning the game. The final score was 60-55, and the loss moves the Rams to 5-8 this season.
