Rare Footage of New Mexico in the 1940s

While visiting historic places gives us a good sense of the past, it’s not the same as viewing actual footage from a specific period. So we were thrilled to find a video that was shot in New Mexico during the 1940s. The narration is also from the same era. It’s interesting to see how our culture and attitudes have shifted over the decades since this video was made.

The film covers locations across the state, including White Sands, the Santa Rita Mine, Carlsbad Caverns, Gallup, Shiprock, Fort Sumner, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos, and more. The vintage cars are a definite highlight.
