Rick Wayne Inge October 20, 1954 ~ March 6, 2026

Funeral services for Rick Inge, 71, of Portales, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wed., Mar. 11, 2026 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Rick Wilcher officiating.  Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery with Joshua Inge, Christopher Inge, Mike Inge, Nito Lovato, Butch Crozier and Gary Watkins serving as pallbearers.  All of his fellow Antique Car Enthusiasts will be honorary pallbearers.

Ricky Wayne Inge was born Oct. 20, 1954 in Farmington, NM to the home of Gloria (Carter) and Bobby Wayne Inge, and passed from this life on the afternoon of Mar. 6, 2026 in Lubbock, TX.  Rick grew up in Portales, and was a 1973 graduate of Portales High School.  For the first few years after graduating, he was employed at Perry Electric in Portales.  In 1977 he established American Electric, which he operated until his death.  Rick enjoyed his work, and took great pride in knowing it was done correctly.

On July 24, 1984, in Las Vegas, NV he was married to Karen Womack.  Rick was a dedicated and loving husband and father to his two sons, and thoroughly enjoyed his role as grandfather to his 5 grandchildren.  Outside of work and his family, Rick’s other passion was antique cars.  He loved working on them, and restoring them.

He is survived by Karen, his wife of more than 41 years; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Joshua and Veronica Inge and Christopher Inge and Lyndsey Keller of Portales; his five grandchildren, Riley, Abigail, Oaklyn and Cash Inge and Xander Mendoza; his father and step-mother, Bob and Laverne Inge of Portales and his brother, Mike and Robin Inge also of Portales.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Reed and his mother, Gloria Inge who died in 2009.
