Sandra Glee Waldo was born October 6, 1938, in Orleans, NE to the home of Velma (Peterson) and Merle Callaway, and passed from this life on the morning of February 28, 2026, in Portales, New Mexico at the age of 87 years.  No local services are planned.

Mrs. Waldo was a 1956 graduate of Orleans High School.  Following graduation, she attended Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano and Organ Performance.  In June 1958, in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was married to Richard Alan Waldo.  In 1962 she and her family moved to Bartlesville, OK.  For a number of years she taught private piano lessons as well as played the organ for a local Presbyterian church.  In the 1990’s she studied to become a Real Estate Broker, and for the ensuing years of her working life she was active in that area.

For many years she spent her winters in Bartlesville, and her summers in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  She maintained her primary residence in Bartlesville until 2023 when she moved to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law.

Mrs. Waldo enjoyed collecting pieces of artwork.  Music was a large part of her life, especially classical music and opera.  She was very active in the community life of Bartlesville, as a member of the Service League and as a Hospice Volunteer.  She was also an active member of Chapter CH PEO.  In addition, she enjoyed studying genealogy.

She is survived by a companion, Kenneth Dewey of Bartlesville, OK, a son Geoffrey Waldo and his significant other, tina LaCaz of Santa Fe, NM; a daughter, Kristin Walko and her husband, Larry Chandler of Portales; six grandchildren, Adelheid (Adam) West, Haniel Goertz, Tabitha (Jordan) Holden, Nadjeschda Goertz, Richard Prenzlow and his significant other, Hayley Chaffin and Judith Prenzlow and her significant other, Brendan Donovan; and two great-grandchildren, Ivory and Sylvan West.
