Please be advised that the City of Portales street department will close the intersection of South Avenue D and West University on Monday, June 9, 2025, due to a necessary water line repair. The water department will be excavating and repairing a water leak in the area. The intersection will remain closed until the repair is completed and the road is properly patched.
During this time, Northbound traffic approaching the intersection will detour East using existing roadways. Southbound traffic will detour West via existing roadways. I have attached a screenshot of the work zone area for reference.
In the event that the water department needs to shut off the water supply, the surrounding area may be affected until the repairs are made. We will do our best to minimize any disruptions.
