Winners Circle 4-H held it’s 6th annual quilt camp at the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds this past week.

Each year the camp has a special project for the participants to complete. The project this year was a lemonade quilt pattern with coordinating pillowcase.

The camp was guided by Amber McAlister, from Nazareth, TX. She brought sewing machines for the participants to use and spent 4 days sharing her immense quilting knowledge with the girls. They had 13 who attended camp this year, ranging in age from 7 to 16 years old.

After 4 days of sewing and learning, each participant went home with a fully completed quilt and pillowcase, as well as the knowledge to continue quilting on their own.

Between their stitches is the story of a wonderful quilting camp and great memories! The participants learned that with a little hard work and perseverance, you can create something beautiful.

This year’s camp may be over, but some of these quilts will be on display at the Roosevelt County Fair, where Winner’s Circle 4-H has many ribbon winners representing their organization each year.
