Chaleeporn was known to many people as the sweetest and kindest woman out there. She had several nicknames like, “Tuk”, “Sweet Face” and most recently, “Tuky”. She was also a very good cook. Anyone who has tried her food in the past knows this! Everyone LOVED her food. She loved to host and cook a feast any chance she’d get for parties, holidays, or anytime anyone came to visit her. She would not let anyone leave her house hungry or would at least pack them with some food to go. Some of her food items people would remember today are her egg rolls, beef jerky, sticky rice, beef pho noodle soup, pies like pecan, cherry and apple, and her breads like banana, zucchini and her most famous “friendship” bread. She also loved cooking spicy foods, which made it difficult for everyone else in the house to breathe. If you don’t know, Asian spices are VERY spicy! She especially enjoyed gardening and would spend most of the daytime tending to it. Her garden was always so beautiful, full of roses, marigolds, and other colorful flowers, fruit trees like apples, nectarine and peaches, and her vegetables. She used her cooking and gardening skills to make her own money for herself. She would always try to hit up the Farmers Market sales in Roswell, NM with her baked goods, egg rolls, plants and vegetables and would get pre-orders from her loyal customers. She would also help a few of her friends at their restaurants in Roswell.
Chaleeporn loved to help and take care of people, especially her grandkids, when she was physically able to. She absolutely loved being a Grandma. She also loved helping take care of other residents with Good Life. The staff and residents at Good Life loved her sweet disposition and jokes. She earned her new nickname “Tuky” here and made new friends. Her best friend was Miss Ev, and Chaleeporn would help feed her at mealtimes. She would even tell other residents to make sure they eat all their food! Chaleeporn was a resident the staff always looked forward to seeing when they go into work, because she was always in smiles. She also loved her “new person”, Maribel, one of her caregivers whom she called “her Mary”.
Chaleeporn was not alone as she peacefully took her last breath. She will be dearly missed as a Grandma and Mother, as well as her delicious foods and her sweet smiles….
